Ms Carmen Julia Quiroga Pacheco

I was born, raised and am currently living in Cochabamba, Bolivia. While studying biology at San Simon State University, I undertook an internship at a Belgian Zoo, during which time I realized that conservation is what I would like to dedicate myself to, and that primates are my biggest passion. After finishing my studies I worked with WCS-Colombia, in the variegated spider monkey conservation project, run at the Magdalena Medio region.

The diploma at WildCRU will helped me a lot, providing  me the tools needed to develop my conservationist skills.

At the moment I am working along with the city council of Cochabamba, developing a project to do a first diagnosis on the selling and possession of exotic animals in the city. This will help us to formulate better environmental education projects, construct animal shelters catering to realistic needs, and will improve the enforcement of wildlife law.
