Charlotte Bird is a palaeontologist and science communicator, specialising in creative storytelling through social media marketing and video production.

A life-long interest in the natural world was inspired by family roots in Africa, before formal study in MSci Earth Sciences at the University of Birmingham. Charlotte recently completed a PhD in Palaeontology, specialising in mammal brain evolution, and has turned her interests to creatively disseminating science to make research accessible for all.

Her previous roles include communications at Imperial College London, social media marketing at Springer Nature Group, event manager for Pint of Science, script writing for Science Animated, and most recently as the producer of science videos and podcasts at Oxford Sparks. Charlotte has a deep admiration for wildlife and has researched a conservation popular science book, interviewed documentary broadcasters and created illustrations for the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. Joining WildCRU is a wonderful opportunity to combine her interests with sharing conservation and research stories from around the world to inspire change and a brighter future.
