After completing a B.Sc. in Biology in 2006 at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, I continued with a M.Sc. in Wild Animal Biology at the Royal Veterinary College at the University of London in collaboration with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). For my dissertation I looked at the habitat selection patterns of cheetahs in the Serengeti, Tanzania. Soon after completing my Masters in 2007 I ended up working as a research assistant for Zinta Zommers, a D.Phil. student at WildCRU, collecting behavioural data on chimpanzees in Budongo Forest, Uganda. In 2008 I joined WildCRU as a D.Phil. student and Kaplan Scholar, studying cheetahs in the Okavango Delta, Botswana under the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust (BPCT). Using GPS collars I investigated whether the spatio-temporal behaviour of cheetahs was influenced by that of lions and spotted hyaenas. Since June 2013 I have been the Director of the Mara Cheetah Project, supported by the Kenya Wildlife Trust .
