I am a computer science professional with a specialisation in AI, machine learning, and data science. I hold a Ph.D. from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, where I focused on advanced machine-learning techniques. Currently, I serve as a Senior Research Software Engineer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, contributing to an AI-driven project for wildlife conservation and global biodiversity monitoring. My career includes pivotal roles such as AI & Machine Learning Development Engineer at the University of Derby and Principal Data Scientist, where I led innovative solutions integrating AR/VR applications with data science. With a strong background in education, I have taught at institutions including the University of West of Scotland and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. My academic contributions are reflected in several publications and an active involvement as a reviewer for various journals.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Peshawar in 2010 and completed my Master’s degree from the City University of Science and Information Technology in 2014. Following my studies, I spent two years as a Data Scientist at Xululabs LLC, where I focused on social media data analysis. In 2016, I pursued a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, completing it in 2020. After my Ph.D., I joined the University of Derby as a Software Engineer and Virtual Reality Specialist, collaborating with industrial partners such as Rolls Royce, JCB, and National Gas. In 2024, I transitioned to the University of Oxford, where I currently serve as a Senior Research Software Engineer on the MorphoCam project, a joint initiative between the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Biology.
