Research Students
I am an undergraduate studying an integrated Masters in biology at the University of Oxford. For my final year I’m doing a project, co-supervised by Professor Amy Dickman, that will investigate how trophy hunting is presented in UK newspapers. Trophy hunting as a practice and as a conservation strategy is controversial, so it will be interesting to find out which arguments are represented in the UK press. I’m particularly curious of whether all stakeholders are platformed by newspapers or whether some voices are marginalised.
Beyond this, I’m interested in ecosystem conservation and restoration as a strategy to mitigate against and adapt to climate change. In the future, I’d love to work in this area. Women’s empowerment in conservation is also very important to me.
