Courtney Hughes has been a visiting tutor since 2011 teaching the environmental education workshop of the Recanati-Kaplan Centre postgraduate diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practice and is collaborating with WildCRU on the analysis of bushmeat survey data from Cameroon.
Courtney is a Land and Biodiversity Specialist with Alberta Environment (AEP) and Park’s Peace Region. She has extensive experience in collaborating with not-for-profit organizations, community groups, industry, and other stakeholders in conservation planning, including environmental education programs. She was formerly a Natural Resource Policy Analyst with AEP, a Science Education Instructor at the University of Alberta, and the Director of a non-profit children’s science camp program. She also has a PhD from the University of Alberta, having studied the social context of grizzly bear recovery in Alberta, Canada.
