WildCRU’s Dr Hedgehog receives honorary award
We are proud to announce that WildCRU’s own hedgehog expert, Dr Sophie Lund Rasmussen, has received the honorary award Fru Hedevig Quiding’s Grant for her devotedness and endeavor to the protection of hedgehogs.
The scholarship is granted to “dedicated women who have sacrificed their time and efforts to protect and help defenseless animals”.
With this much appreciated recognition of her efforts, Sophie will proudly continue her research to understand and amend the challenges causing the decline of our beloved European hedgehogs.
During 2021, Sophie has published research on hedgehogs and robotic lawn mowers, stress, personality and post release survival in wild and rehabilitated hedgehogs, and an investigation of the endoparasites and their determinants in hedgehogs.
