Claudio Sillero interviewed on Indian Tiger conservation

February 3, 2015

WildCRU Deputy Director, Professor Claudio Sillero, was interviewed for FM4 Austrian radio station about Indian Tiger conservation. The interview can be heard via a link at the bottom of this page on the FM4 website.

A quote from the interview: “I would like to commend the Indian authorities for what they have achieved so far. Although, without getting complacent, we also know that during 2014 India lost at least 81 tigers to poaching, 5% of the population. Large carnivores being slow at breeding and replacing the numbers, it wouldn’t be sustainable if we were to lose as many tigers year after year. So there is a lot to be done.”
