I am the Country Director of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Myanmar Program where I have been since 2003. I worked in Myanmar Forest Department from 1994 to 1999 after completing my BSc (Forestry) in 1993 at University of Forestry, Yezin, Myanmar. I received my MSc in Environmental Management and Development at Australian National University, Australia in 2002.
I also took the Post Graduate Diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practices at WildCRU, Oxford University in 2010. My main interests are program management, landscape conservation, biological monitoring for assessing conservation effectiveness, participatory resource management, protected area management planning and monitoring.
Diploma Projects
- Viewing different angles of occupancy: estimating of occupancy of gaur (Bos gaurus) and sambar (Cervus unicolor) using two different methods
- Comparison of conventional and spatial capture-recapture methods to estimate leopard (Panthera pardus) density using camera trap data in central Kenya
