PROFILE
I completed my MBiol with a First-Class degree at Lady Margaret Hall, where my Master’s research, supervised by Profs Claudio Sillero and Andrew Gosler, explored the relationship between religion and attitudes towards tigers in Maharashtra, central India. My fieldwork was supported in part by the Save Wild Tigers Partnership.
My doctoral research, funded by the Valerie Mitchell Scholarship and supervised by Prof Amy Dickman, Dr Joe Bull, and Dr Ewan Macdonald, focuses on the intersection of Nature finance, tiger conservation, and human–wildlife coexistence. My work explores how financial mechanisms can support conservation outcomes while ensuring equitable benefits for communities living alongside wildlife.
Alongside my DPhil, I have a broader interest in ornithology and contribute to Ethno-ornithology Letters (ETHNOLETS), a new journal developed in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia. I have worked with national and international NGOs on wildlife conservation, biodiversity research, and environmental education.
I currently serve as a Trustee of Wild Oxfordshire and as Youth Director at Reserva: The Youth Land Trust, with a particular interest in youth participation in conservation governance and practice. I also co-lead Bhūmi Spirit, an innovative environmental education project developed with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, and teach undergraduate Biology tutorials at LMH. Outside academia, I am a trained Carnatic vocalist and Western classical pianist.
