We present a haplotype resolved, diploid genome assembly from a
male Meles meles (European badger; Chordata; Mammalia; Carnivora;
Mustelidae) using the trio binning approach. The genome sequence is
2,739 megabases in span. The majority of the assembly (95.16%) is
scaffolded into 23 chromosomal pseudomolecules with the X and Y
sex chromosomes assembled. The complete mitochondrial genome
was also assembled and is 16.4 kilobases in length.
