The WildCRU Post-Graduate Diploma in Wildlife Conservation (Recanati-Kaplan) continues to equip conservationists from around the world with the knowledge, skills and networks needed to address some of the most pressing challenges facing wildlife and biodiversity. To date, 137 students from 55 countries have completed the Diploma, including 52 from Africa, 48 from Asia, 25 from South America, six from Europe, four from North America and two from Oceania.
Diploma alumni are contributing to conservation science and practice across the globe. They have been authors on more than 1,000 scientific papers, technical reports and public outreach items, including 13 articles published in Science. Alumni have also contributed to IUCN Red List assessments of at least 15 carnivore species and to European Union status assessments for grey wolves, bears, lynx and wolverine.
The 2024 and 2025 cohorts demonstrate the breadth of this impact with research projects across human-wildlife conflict, carnivore ecology, habitat use, biodiversity monitoring and coexistence between people and wildlife. We are proud to see the achievements of these talented conservationists, supporting them to turn knowledge into action and creating lasting impact for wildlife, biodiversity and the people who depend on them.
