My journey as ecologist started when I joined Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique, in 2010 and since then everything has become connected. In my childhood I used to watch my brother taking care of plants in a small garden at home. He gave me the responsibility of taking care of the garden every time he was away, and it sparked how I see the planet.

During my academic years, I explored Mozambique’s rich landscapes, working as a research assistant and sharpened my technical skills in spatial mapping with ArcGIS. In 2019, I joined the Niassa Carnivore Project, where I now serve as both Conservation Manager and Pilot.

In this dual role, I monitor critical wildlife indicators, implement targeted conservation strategies, and support anti-poaching operations through aerial patrols, EarthRanger, and data collection and reporting via SMART (Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool).

Being admitted into the Recanati-Kaplan Postgraduate Diploma in Wildlife Conservation (2026–2027) marks a milestone in my career. It is an opportunity to deepen my expertise, embrace new challenges, and connect with conservationists from diverse contexts who share a common purpose.
