PROFILE

The Zimbabwe Leopard Monitoring Framework, implemented by ZimParks in collaboration with key research partners including WildCRU and Panthera amongst others, plays a pivotal role in providing rigorous estimates of leopard (and other large carnivores) population densities from camera-trap surveys undertaken annually at key sites across the country. From 2025-2026, ZimParks and its partners will be conducting an intensive camera-trap Survey of Large Predators in the Matebeleland North Region of Zimbabwe.

Having conducted extensive field work on camera-trap surveys since 2018, my Fellowship at WildCRU is now aimed at enhancing my capacity in the design, implementation and analysis of data from camera-trap surveys. The knowledge and skills gained from this Fellowship will enable me to play a much bigger and more effective role in the planning, execution, data analysis and final reporting of the outcomes of camera-trap surveys.
