Emma Knott

PROFILE

Emma is a Programme Manager of grants and projects within WildCRU. She oversees the administration of the research group and is a member of WildCRU’s Senior Management Team. In early 2025, Emma was appointed Deputy Director of WildCRU. Since joining WildCRU in 2017, she has worked closely with Professor Andrew Loveridge, coordinating research and conservation activities under the Trans Kalahari Predator Programme team. This programme has since evolved into the WildCAT Programme, a collaborative initiative with the Wildlife and Communities Action Trusts (WildCAT) in Botswana and Zimbabwe. Between 2022 – 2024 Emma was Unit Manager for WildCRU.

Emma has a particular interest in the role of effective governance in conservation, particularly in ensuring that research and conservation initiatives are not only legally compliant but also aligned with best practices in ethical management. She is dedicated to fostering transparent and accountable governance structures, working closely with collaborators to ensure that conservation projects are governed in a way that respects both local laws and international standards.
