PROFILE

From early childhood, I appreciated nature, our school field trips made me realize the value and beauty of natural spaces, and I saw myself as a conservationist within my own country, helping to protect South Sudan’s remarkable wilderness, I challenged myself to take up a conservation course, which made me study Environmental Science and Management in Uganda. In the past six years, working with Fauna & Flora, I have been exposed to project management in a conservation NGO, sensitizing local communities to protect our natural resources.

Importantly, the reconnaissance surveys we have conducted through Camera Traps, eDNAs, Aerial surveys, and Patrols have contributed significantly to the Organization and the government knowing what is available in the protected areas. While at Oxford, I look forward to learning more from the practical skill sets provided by experienced tutors and also from course colleagues, learning from their experiences which can be vital to my future work and research, broadening my analytical skills, and also gaining more knowledge on how to mitigate Human-wildlife conflict which has become very often within the communities.
