I obtained a BSc in Biology from the University of Toulouse in France and three years later validated a diploma of Engineer in Agriculture-Livestock production from the National School of Agricultural Techniques of Bordeaux. From 1996 and for four years I joined the Arabian oryx reintroduction programme in Saudi Arabia at the National Wildlife Research Center in Taif, where I was the NWRC Mammal Curator. I spent the next four years as Field Biologist in ‘Uruq Bani Ma’Arid in the desert of the appropriately named Empty Quarter, where the oryx were re-introduced. From mid 2004 and for a few years I worked and travelled in France and the Iberian Peninsula, and I completed some GIS training. In 2009 I was appointed as the Technical Adviser of the Gilé National Reserve in Mozambique’s Zambezian province, supporting the Reserve warden and the provincial Department of Tourism. This was a co-management project between the Fondation Internationale pour la Sauvegarde de la Faune (IGF Foundation) and the Mozambican Ministry of Tourism. During four years, my main activities focused on infrastructure rehabilitation, law enforcement and biodiversity monitoring and development. Again I had the invaluable opportunity to participate in several large mammal re-introductions. I joined the WildCRU In January 2014 as the Field Coordinator of the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme (EWCP), and I am based in the Bale Mountains National Park of south-eastern Ethiopia.
