Hoang Trinh Dinh (2017)
Alumni Diploma Students
2017
Briefly, I studied forestry in both Bachelor and Master courses. I had chances working for projects in forestry and natural conservation and local/rural development, and with ethnic minorities in remote areas of Vietnam.
Since 2000, I have been working in biodiversity conservation. I am currently the Biodiversity Technical Advisor at Fauna & Flora International – Vietnam Programme, which is prioritizing conservation action for critically threatened and endemic primates of Vietnam. My tasks focus largely on field surveys, research, monitoring and evaluating conservation intervention.
I have recognized that I could better work and contribute to wildlife conservation with a deeper knowledge base, especially with regards to habitat assessment, population monitoring techniques and management, statistics, GIS and project reporting. In addition, this course would also be ideal preparation in report writing skills and scientific method ahead of commencing a PhD in the future and for networking with professionals in wildlife research and conservation.
Update September 2019
Hoang is working for Fauna &Flora International in Vietnam as a Biodiversity Team Manager.
