Research Students
I conducted my BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Zoology) at The University of Edinburgh, and graduated with the Ashworth Prize for distinguished performance in Zoology. For my honours project I studied the persistence of animal personalities across ontogeny in the African clawed frog (supervised by Dr Patrick Walsh). During my degree I spent 12 months studying at The University of Queensland in Brisbane where I gained extensive field experience in both terrestrial and marine settings. After my BSc I took a research assistant position in Indonesia, where I conducted dive based surveys to assess the effectiveness of the Komodo MPA for conserving sharks and rays.
I am currently completing a PhD in the Department of Zoology at The University of Oxford, funded by a NERC studentship as part of the Doctoral Training Program in Environmental Research. My research investigates the impact of people and anthropogenic features of the landscape on lion behaviour and movement ecology. My PhD is a collaborative project, working with researchers from Leopard Ecology & Conservation, Lion Landscapes and Ruaha Carnivore Project.
