PROFILE
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to dedicate my life to work with animals, and just before graduating high school I realized that I wanted to study them and contribute to protect the habitats they live in. I studied Biology at Universidad Mayor de San Simon (Cochabamba, Bolivia) where I had the opportunity to explore different fields within the biological sciences, but I lastly re-enforced this wish of study and protect and learned that the path that had to follow was the one of conservation.
My experience in conservation includes some great projects that I had the privilege to participate in, this including a multi-disciplinary project about urban corridors in Cochabamba city, where I contribute to the study of birds and lepidoptera; I also participated in the 6th expedition for study and protect the Bolivian dolphin, executed by the ONG Faunagua.
Last but not least, I’m also part of the Great Andean Carnivore Project, led by my mentor, Dr. Ximena Velez-Liendo, with whom I did my bachelor thesis about the habitat use of the Geoffroy cat in the interandean dry forests of Bolivia.
I have great expectations with this diploma, not only about getting all the knowledge and skills that I can get from the best university in the world, but also getting to know people, students and academic staff, from whom I can learn a lot and who I can count on to share knowledge from now to the future.
