I have always been strongly connected with nature, which makes me feel deeply happy and blessed. Growing up, I understood how humans impact nature, and the complicated relationship our species has with other species. My decision to work in conservation is linked to the desire to build a better relationship with our planet and to protect it from damaging human actions.
My career as a conservationist formally began after graduating, but it has been building up for a lot longer. I have been involved in different projects in Antarctica, Patagonia and Costa Rica, studying and doing field work mainly with charismatic marine species.
While at Oxford I aim to build a network of colleagues working hard to protect our planet, to develop expert field biologist skills, and to master tools that will help me develop my own research and conservation projects. Longer term, I aim to make a significant contribution to healing the Earth’s health, helping protect and sustain different ecosystems, and overall to develop a more sustainable lifestyle for us all, to guarantee people and nature’s well-being.
