I believe the conservation field is an avenue for selflessness, an act I hold with the highest esteem. A choice to work in conservation is choosing to contribute to a need bigger than oneself, and for the greater good of everyone around us and for future generations. I feel fulfilled knowing that I contribute to this need and ensure a future for those that come after me. When all is said and done, I hope I will be able to inspire and influence young Africans like me to dare to dream and take up careers in conservation.
I have over three years of professional experience in conservation, and my main specialty and interest has been in field ecology, with a focus on carnivore monitoring and tracking. I have also had the opportunity to work with protected area law enforcers and have got experience in data management.
During this Diploma course, I hope to engage and share experiences with other people at WildCRU, with hopes of learning new and practical approaches to tackling the challenges that come with our line of work. I also aspire to build networks and relationships that will benefit my personal and professional growth.
