Growing up watching David Attenborough’s documentaries exposed me to the incredible natural world and struggles faced by many species. This exposure evolved from fascination into academic pursuit, as I began to realize that witnessing nature is no longer enough; we must actively defend it.

I graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with First Class Honours and was awarded the University of Zimbabwe Book Prize in Forestry, Savanna and Wildlife Ecology.

My goal is to become a conservation biologist in Zimbabwe who integrates rigorous scientific principles with conservation action. I have a keen interest in carnivores and their ecological interactions. My work integrates research data to understand and generate solutions that balance biodiversity benefit with stakeholder gain.

My field experience is within the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, where I conduct research to monitor the endangered painted dog (Lycaon pictus) and understand demography, threats, and ranging behaviour.

I look forward to developing skills in data collection, GIS and R, project management and grant writing during the WildCRU Diploma.

I intend to pursue an MSc and subsequently a PhD. I am committed to returning to Zimbabwe with skills and knowledge to contribute to biodiversity conservation and share knowledge with students, conservationists and stakeholders.
