The Making a Difference Globally Award recognises colleagues who have made a difference to lives outside the UK through the University’s resources, expertise and insights. WildCRU was acknowledged for sharing Oxford expertise globally to build local capacity, support equitable livelihoods, strengthen policy, and improve coexistence between people and wildlife.

Prior to the awards ceremony, WildCRU took part in the Vice Chancellor’s Awards Showcase at the Schwarzman Centre. Team members shared examples of their research with fellow academics, students and members of the public, highlighting the wide range of projects supported by WildCRU and the global impact of our work.

Winners were announced at a special ceremony hosted by the Vice Chancellor on 4th  June. Reflecting on the achievement, WildCRU’s Director Professor Amy Dickman said: “I am so thrilled that our amazing team has received a Vice Chancellor’s Award. Our work involves so many diverse people, including researchers, support staff, field teams, students, donors and others, and it was wonderful to have that collective commitment recognised at the highest level in the University.”

The Vice-Chancellor’s Awards received 170 entries across 13 categories this year, with more than 1,000 individuals included in nominations. WildCRU’s success highlights the team’s longstanding commitment to delivering conservation impact and supporting people and wildlife across the globe.
