New wildlife hospital ward named after WildCRU researcher
July 01, 2026Sophie Lund Rasmussen’s dedication to hedgehog research, conservation, rehabilitation and science communication has been recognised through the naming of a new ward at the Parisian wildlife rescue centre ‘Le Centre de Sauvegarde de la Faune Sauvage – Erinaceus France’.
Sophie was recently invited to an official ribbon cutting ceremony at the wildlife hospital, which treats sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. The Deputy Mayor of Paris, Aminata Niakaté, attended the ward opening, describing Sophie as the ‘Jane Goodall of hedgehogs’.
